World’s Best IP Blogs – China IPR

Hello there readers, hope you’ve all had a great weekend. Continuing with our series on the world’s best IP blogs, the weblog that we bring to you today is called “China IPR.” The blog covers Intellectual Property news from China.

This blog was launched in mid-November 2011 and has garnered a huge following within a short span of 4 years. The blog is run by Mark Allen Cohen, who has over 25 years of  private, public sector, in house and academic experience on IPR issues in China. The blog aims to provide access to information, news and events related to IP developments in China.

Mr. Cohen is a senior adviser at the USPTO and a former US Embassy Intellectual Property Commissioner responsible for providing advice on how to protect intellectual property rights in China to the US government agencies. This experience has allowed Mr. Cohen to publish some fantastic articles on the blog.     In one of the earliest posts on the blog Mr. Cohen remarks that he hopes the blog would be a meeting place for data-driven, informed discussions on IP issues in China.

One might find it hard to believe, but the blog has a better global rank in comparison to many of the other weblogs, including IP Dragon, which has been cited as the best IP resource by many IP professionals. In fact China IPR has a higher reach rank as well in comparison to other blogs form China. Alexa indicates the Global Rank for this weblog as 2,672,950.  The blog is built on WordPress and has a fairly good user interaction.

Dr. Kalyan C. Kankanala, Leading IP Attorney, noted that – “”CHINA IPR is one of the best resources in the world for updates on IP from China. It is a must read resource if you are interested in the Chinese market.”

The blog does a fantastic job pulling up IP information and making it available for everyone to read and understand. If I could summarize the blog in one word, I would say that the blog is “Neat”! The blog provides not only reliable and timely information but also neatly expressed opinions and comments. You cannot complain much about the blog because Mark Cohen appears to have a done a great job with this blog and we wish that he continues the good work.
