Patent Statistics Overview:

  • Total patent applications this week: 755 (Early publications: 333, Ordinary publications: 422)
  • Patent examination decreased by 27.86%, standing at 378.
  • Patent grants decreased by 15.40% to 1,214 applications.

Breakdown by City – Early Publications:

  • Delhi: No early publications reported (251 to 0)
  • Mumbai: Drop of 68.96% (87 to 27)
  • Chennai: Surge of 671.05% (38 to 293)
  • Kolkata: Hiked by 333.33% (3 to 13).

Ordinary Publications by City:

  • Delhi: 12.68% drop (347 to 303)
  • Mumbai: 30.50% downfall (59 to 41)
  • Chennai: 12.5% decline (88 to 77)
  • Kolkata: decrease of 90.90% (11 to 1).

First Examination Report (FER) Distribution:

  • Delhi: 157
  • Mumbai: 71
  • Chennai: 134
  • Kolkata: 16.

Publications Under Grant by City:

  • Delhi witnessed a 11.23% decline (614 to 545)
  • Mumbai saw a decrease of 17.25% (226 to 187)
  • Chennai observed a decrease of 20.04 % (454 to 363)
  • Kolkata reported a drop of 15.60% (141 to 119).

Industrial Design Statistics:

  • 308 designs registered this week, decreased from 324 the previous week.
  • Total designs registered in 2023: 19,375.
