Patent Informatics has been described as the science of analysing patent information which supports decision making in research, technology and business planning. Taking into consideration the importance of patent informatics in today’s day and age, CSIR – URDIP has launched a one year full time post-graduate diploma course in the field of Patent informatics. The course has been designed to train candidates in the field of patent searching, reading and analysis for the purpose of creating patent landscapes, identifying research gaps, competitive intelligence, new venture evaluation, patent portfolio management and techno-legal studies (Patentability, Validity, Infringement and freedom to operate). The lectures will be delivered by scientists at CSIR-URDIP who have a decade of experience in the area of Patinformatics.
The eligibility criteria has been stated and interested candidates must have one of the following-
- Master’s degree in science
- M. Pharm.
- B.E /B.Tech.
- L.L.B with Science background
- M.Lib Sci. with graduation in science
- MBA with graduation in science.
The interested candidates must note that they must have a minimum of 60% of marks in the qualifying exam. The total numbers of available seats are 30. The selection will be made on the basis of interview, which will be held at Pune. CSIR-URDIP reserves the right of admission based on merit/experience and educational qualifications.
The last date for submission of applications is June 30th, 2016. The course modules are designed to include a blend of class room teaching and hands on training on live projects of different types. On successful completion of the program the candidates will be awarded “Post-Graduate Diploma in Patinformatics” by the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), a university established by an act of the Parliament. The young professionals trained in this course will find growing job opportunities in Corporate Planning, Business Development, IP and R&D Management functions as well as in Law firms, Consultancy companies and other knowledge processing organizations.
