Patent Statistics Overview:
- Total patent applications this week: 1201 (Early publications: 663, Ordinary publications: 538)
- Patent examination increased by 60%, standing at 279.
- Patent grants saw a decrease of 28% with 846 applications
Breakdown by City – Early Publications:
- Delhi: decreased by 7% (185 to 172)
- Mumbai: increased by 50% (108 to 162)
- Chennai: decreased by 49% (598 to 302)
- Kolkata: decreased by 20% (34 to 27).
Ordinary Publications by City:
- Delhi: 28% decline (240 to 171)
- Mumbai: 31% decrease (187 to 129)
- Chennai: 44% decrease (342 to 191)
- Kolkata: dropped by 27% (65 to 47).
First Examination Report (FER) Distribution:
- Delhi: 89
- Mumbai: 64
- Chennai: 94
- Kolkata: 32
Publications Under Grant by City:
- Delhi witnessed a 27% decrease (432 to 315)
- Mumbai saw a decrease of 31% (254 to 173)
- Chennai observed a drop of 27% (390 to 282)
- Kolkata reported a decrease of 26% (103 to 76).

Of the 1,201 patent applications, the top contributing cities are:
- Delhi: 34
- Mumbai: 24

- Early publications: 14,712
- Ordinary publications: 20,801
- Total applications published: 35,513
- Total grants: 45,652 (Delhi: 18,629, Mumbai: 8,586, Chennai: 14,141, Kolkata: 4,296)
- Applications examined: 7,409.
Industrial Design Statistics:
- 1,011 designs registered this week, increased from 679 the previous week.
- Total designs registered in 2024 : 22,816.
