Indian Patent Statistics
A total of 558 patent applications have been published in the 35th issue of the patent journal. Out of the 558 applications, 79 applications account for early publications while 479 applications account for ordinary publications or publications occurring after the 18 month period. A total of 300 applications have been granted this week. The patent office has also published a corrected list of granted applications from the previous week and the stats here have been amended accordingly.

Accordingly, the self-ignitable agarbatti is provided which comprises an ignitable shaft having a holding end, an ignitable end located opposite to said holding end having flammable glue applied over it and a middle portion rolled over with an incense material. The anti mosquito paint composition comprises a polymeric emulsion, an insecticide that depolarizes axonal sodium channels of mosquitoes, a biocide, a pigment, a dispersing agent, a filler, and water. the anti mosquito paint composition has pigment volume concentration in the range of 50 to 75%. The insecticide is in an amount in the range of 0.9 to 1.1 mass% of the total mass of the anti mosquito paint composition, which acts on the central nervous system (CNS) of the mosquitoes by affecting the sodium channels in the axonal membranes, thereby paralyzing the mosquito and further leading to its death. The following invention integrated of three apparatus mainly wearable smart spectacle (WSS) device, pointing finger reader (PFR) device with real time communication and smart phone mobile. It will continuously record the real time visual depth information through video camera mounted on the frame of the glasses and synthesis real time auditory speech, which is fed into the earpiece of the person who is wearing the spectacle device. The system help blind individuals to interactive interaction with system to ask guidance in navigation via mic attached in the device. The pointing finger reader device is to be worn on the index finger of visual impaired individual. It is fit in a ring on the users finger, equipped with a small camera that scans text. This system device provides tactile maps of visual spaces and allows users to deduce possible paths for navigating these spaces in order to perform independent, safe and efficient mobility tasks. US Court slaps Huawei with $10.5 million fine
A Texas jury last week found Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei guilty of infringing several patents belonging to a Texas based company called PanOptis. In the suit brought about by PanOptis, the company submitted to the jury that it owns several patents related to 4G LTE technology and that Huawei had infringed these patents through manufacture and sale of multiple Huawei smartphones including the Nexus 6P. The jury agreed that Huawei should pay $10.5 million to PanOptis for the violations.
Verizon faces patent infringement suit
In yet another suit file at the Texas federal court last week, an Australian computer security firm called Uniloc Corp. has accused Verizon of infringing four of the company’s patents that deal with wireless technologies and message broadcasting systems. Uniloc has alleged that Verizon Communications Inc.’s mobile hotspots and mobile modems that provide internet access, GPS technology that gives messages to other Verizon devices, streaming service that allows videos to be streamed faster, and network that allows shared access over a common frequency band all infringe its patents.
International Patent Updates
USPTO offers refunds for electronic filing outage
Patent filers who were inconvenienced by the recent outage of the US Patent and Trademark Office’s (USPTO) electronic filing system can now file a form to receive a refund. The USPTO was forced to undertake emergency maintenance to its IT systems after its patent system went offline in mid-August.
It said that the maintenance was due to a problem with its PALM database, which supports systems like the electronic filing system and the patent application information retrieval system.
