This post details the engagement of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) to sensitise Indian SMEs in the machine tools, plastics, and foundry sectors about the importance of intellectual property in business. A comprehensive programme was designed, including practical training and strategic IP audits for around fifty SMEs across India. The initiative facilitated the identification, protection, and commercialisation of more than 250 potential intellectual properties, with about 120 different IP filings.
