Indian Patent Office to conduct Seminars & Workshops to spread awareness regarding National IPR Policy

 The Indian Patent office has decided to chalk out a detailed annual plan to spread awareness about the IPR policy through seminars and workshops in schools and universities. O. P Gupta, Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks has said that the Indian Patent office is trying to reach out to all the stake holders to discuss about the annual plan. He spoke about this initiative at an Assocham event which was held in New Delhi on 21.10.2016. He stressed upon the need to spread awareness about IP rights and also discussed about reaping maximum benefits from IP assets.

CEAT files patent for puncture safe tyres

CEAT, one of the leading tyre manufacturers in India has filed for a patent for the puncture safe tyres which it has introduced recently.  This kind of tyre has been developed at the research and development centre of the company at Halol in Gujarat.  The first set of tyres is being introduced in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and they will be rolled out across the country subsequently in a phased manner. Nitish Bajaj, Vice President, Marketing, CEAT has said that the tyre has a special gel. When a nail pieces the tyre, the gel protects the tyre. Later, when the nail is removed, the gel fills up the space created by the nail.

Commerce and Industry Minister , Nirmala Sitharaman unveils logo of the Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM).

 Commerce and Industry Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman has recently unveiled the logo of the Cell for IPR Promotion and Management on 19th October, 2016. The logo has been designed by the National Institute of Design taking in to account the slogan of the National IPR Policy which is Creative India, Innovative India. CIPAM is a body which has been created under the aegis of DIPP (Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion) to promote public awareness in the country about IPR.

Amazon Technologies Inc.gets a patent for a system to manage to manage data centres

Amazon Technologies Inc., a subsidiary of Amazon has recently secured an Indian Patent relating to a system for efficiently managing data centres by streamlining the processing of applications generated out of multiple computing systems.
