The DIPP (Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion) had recently notified the amended Trademark Rules, 2017.  The notification was released on 6th March, 2017 amidst intense speculation in the IP fraternity. The amended rules primarily seek to simplify the process of trademark filing and prosecution. The Trademark Rules, 2017 have come into force from today, 6th March, 2017.
