Highlights of Trademark Rules 2017 (Part 2) : Revised Trademark forms

The DIPP (Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion) had recently notified the amended Trademark Rules, 2017.  The notification was released on 6th March, 2017 amidst intense speculation in the IP fraternity. The amended rules primarily seek to simplify the process of trademark filing and prosecution. Trademark Rules 2017

The Trademark Rules, 2017 have come into force from today, 6th March, 2017. The new Rules published by the Department of Industrial Promotion and Policy(DIPP) today afternoon would replace the Trademark Rules, 2002.  The amended Rules aim at simplifying the registration procedure, with fewer forms and improved online filing process.
