These statistics are presented to you by the Patent attorneys and experts of BananaIP Counsels, India’s leading Intellectual Property Firm. These statistics have been compiled from the official journal of the Indian trademark office published weekly on Mondays. INDIAN TRADEMARK STATISTICS Last week, the Indian Trademark Office have had tremendous increase in its work pace. The total number of applications disposed through show cause hearings has increased by fifty four percent (54%). Similarly, the total hearing notices issued has increased by one hundred and eleven percent (111%). Nine months after the Central government first notified the draft Patents (Amendment) Rules, 2018 on the 4th of December 2018, the Patents (Amendment) Rules, 2019 have now come into effect through a notification by the Central Government on the 18th of September 2019 in its official gazette.
