Christmas, the annual festival celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. People around the world have been observing this day with traditions and practices that are both religious and secular in nature. It is celebrated worldwide with few traditions like feasts, symbolic decorations, giving gifts and social gatherings. On this special day, we bring to you information on a few patents related to Christmas.
An invention as disclosed in US 7132139B2 discloses a structure of an assembled type Christmas tree. The invention relates to a Christmas tree, which is structured in such a way that it is easy to assemble and dismantle, and that the joints between the cords of the lamp sets and the trunk thereof are hidden inside the trunk, prevented from showing to spoil the appearance of the Christmas tree or cause danger.
Further, another invention as disclosed in US20050204617A1 describes an apparatus for watering a Christmas tree extending from the support loop. The conduit has an upper end that adjoins the bottom opening of the reservoir and a lower end with a strip off hook and loop material attached thereto for securing the lower end to the trunk of a Christmas tree stand using the force of gravity and vacuum control, and to thereby allow for adequate watering of the tree without requiring someone to crawl under the tree to inspect the level of water in the tree.
Yet another invention titled “Santa Claus detector” as disclosed in US 5523741 describes a children’s Santa Claus by illuminating an externally visible light source having a power source located within the device. More particularly the invention relates to a device for signalling the arrival of Santa Claus. According to the invention, the Christmas stocking has an enclosure therein, a light source disposed on the stocking exteriorly thereof, a power source for powering the light source upon completion of an electric conduction path there between and switch means for selectively connecting the power source to the light source. The power source and switch means are preferably contained in the stocking enclosure.
