IP for Start-ups: An NSRCEL-IIMB event

On the 5th of September, 2015, NSRCEL has organised a panel discussion titled ‘IP for Startups’, to help start ups and entrepreneurs understand the Dos and Don’ts of IP management and its importance in the context of business.

NSRCEL or the Nadathur S. Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning, considered to be a hotbed for promising entrepreneurial talent, was founded in 2002, at the renowned Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB). The centre was founded with the objective to provide a platform for entrepreneurs to hone their skills and covert their raw talent into successful business ventures. Besides this, a dearth ofresearch on the status of entrepreneurship development in India” was also felt. To propel entrepreneurs in the right direction, NSRCEL provides various courses on entrepreneurship, taught by an eminent faculty comprising of IIMB professors as well as industry experts. It is also has incubator cell which has produced a number success stories and continues to do so.

In keeping with mission and objective, the panel discussion on the 5th of September has been organised to discuss the role and importance of IP in the context of start-ups and entrepreneurs. The distinguished panel for the occasion, Dr. Kalyan C. Kankanala (Managing Partner of BananaIP Counsel), K. Madhavan (Managing Director, Peps India), S.K. Murthy (Patent Counsel, Intel Technology India Pvt. Ltd.) and Ashish Anand (Founder, Linksmart Technologies) will deliberate on issues like-

  1. The business role of IP in start ups;
  2. IP driven Start Ups vs. IP geared start ups
  3. Surviving IP Risks; and
  4. Basic IP practices

The keynote address for the event shall be given by none other than Dr. Kalyan C. Kankanala, who will also be moderating the panel discussion. The entry to the event is free of cost, however registration is a prerequisite.

So join Dr. Kalyan and other industry experts on the 5th of September at the IIMB auditorium for an insightful discussion about start-ups and the business of intellectual property.
