BananaIP (BIP) Counsels is organizing a first of its kind Program to help Companies Generate Business and value Driven Patents from their inventors. This corporate seminar titled “The Strategic Inventor” is designed and delivered by Dr. Kalyan C. Kankanala, a well-known Patent Attorney and thought leader in the field. The primary objective of the program is to help inventors gain valuable insights about inventing from the patent perspective.
Unlike traditional and standard workshops and seminars on patent law, the program does not include lectures, talks or presentations. The program uses creative and contemplative learning techniques such as storytelling, creative problem solving, thought experiments and role plays.
The program includes the following three sessions:
Session 1 – The Story of Patentable Inventions
The objective of this session is to help inventors learn the essential elements for creating patentable inventions through participative storytelling and simple problem solving.
Session 2 – Inventions to Patents: Insights from Inventor Stories
In this session, inventors will gain insights into some basic principles that define business and patent driven invention by sharing their stories and experiences. They will weave a web of intelligence from a co-ordinated exchange of stories.
Session 3 – The Argumentative Inventor
This session will involve a Mock Court Trial, which will help the inventors understand the nuances of creating patentable inventions, which are relatively free from patent risks.
Who may register for the Workshop/Program?
The program is open only to inventors. Inventors, who have filed patents earlier will benefit more from the program than others.
The program is primarily suitable for corporate inventors seeking to generate patentable inventions that address the company’s business needs. Companies may nominate their employee inventors for the program.
Program Date: 22nd September 2017
