These patent and design statistics have been compiled from the official journal of the patents and designs office published by the patent office every week on Fridays. These statistics are presented to you by the Patent attorneys and experts of BananaIP Counsels, India\u2019s leading Patent Firm.<\/p>\n

Indian Patent Statistics<\/span><\/h2>\n

A total of 887 patent applications have been published in the 37th<\/sup>\u00a0issue of the Patent Journal, 2019. Out of the 887 applications published in the journal, 45 applications account for early publications while 842 applications account for ordinary publications or publications occurring after the 18 \u2013 month period. A total of 358 applications have been granted last week as compared to 639 grants in the week preceding the last thereby marking a decrease of about 44%.<\/p>\n

Of the total 887 patent applications published in the journal last week, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kolkata have contributed a total of 99 applications. The total applications from each of the previously mentioned cities are as follows \u2013 28 applications from Bangalore, 20 applications from Hyderabad, 18 applications from Delhi, 16 applications from Chennai, 9 applications from Mumbai and 8 applications from Kolkata.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The designs office has registered a total of 229 designs this week. The total designs registered from the 1st<\/sup>\u00a0of January 2019 till date now adds to a total of\u00a011263 applications.<\/p>\n
