The film was earlier banned by these governments citing law and order issues. Viacom 18, the producers of this film had approached the Apex Court challenging the ban. Harish Salve, the Senior Advocate representing Viacom 18 stated that \u201c If somebody has a problem (with the film), then he or she can approach appellate tribunal for relief. The state cannot touch the content of a film. We request the central government to pass a direction to the states for a better and effective step and solution\u201d reported ANI. Lifting the ban against the film, the Apex Court said that it is the duty and obligation of the state to maintain law and order and it cannot use its machinery to prohibit a film\u2019s exhibition citing risk to public order, The Hindu reported.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>INTERNATIONAL COPYRIGHT AND ENTERTAINMENT LAW UPDATES<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Netflix and Amazon Sue Dragon Box<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Netflix and Amazon have joined other major studios against the makers of Dragon Box, an internet streaming device. The lawsuit filed in California alleges that Dragon Box enables access to infringing content. The suit is seeking unspecified amounts as damages and an injunction restraining the sale of Dragon Box devices.<\/p>\n<h2>LICENSING AND MERCHANDISING UPDATES<\/h2>\n<h3>Patanjali Partners with E-commerce Brands<\/h3>\n<p>Baba Ramdev\u2019s Patanjali Ayurveda has announced the expansion of its e-commerce operation. The FMCG brand entered into agreements with Amazon, Flipkart, ShopClues, PayTm Mall, 1MG, NetMed, Bigbasket and Grofers to sell its products on their platforms.\u00a0 \u201cWe believe our partnerships with e-commerce platforms will help increase the reach of Patanjali products to more and more consumers in urban and rural regions,\u201d Baba Ramdev said in a statement.<\/p>\n<h2>COPYRIGHT TIP OF THE WEEK<\/h2>\n<h3>E-Commerce and Contracts<\/h3>\n<p>Selling products on e-commerce portals requires measures and contracts that are specially tailor-made for the purpose.
