On May 22, 1849, Abraham Lincoln received a patent for his invention of a \u201cmethod of buoying vessels over shoals\u201d. He is still the only US President to have held a patent.<\/p>\n

Indian Patent Statistics<\/h2>\n

There has been a sharp decline in the total number of patent applications that have been published this week by the Indian Patent Office. With a total of 449 patent applications being published, the percentage of publications has decreased by a significant 61.02%. While 23 of these patent applications are early publications, the remaining 449 applications are ordinary publications or publications occurring after the 18 month period. A total of 296 patents have been issued this week, which marks an increase of 35.16%.<\/p>\n
