The year 2014 saw a sharp increase to 113 cases, more than double the figure recorded the previous year.<\/p>\n<h2>Trends in Trademark Litigation<\/h2>\n<p>Trademark decisions reflect a clear upward trend from 2004 onwards. The count of 14 in 2004 grew steadily to 173 by 2009. Modest declines were recorded in 2010 and 2012, before the number rose again, reaching 239 in 2014.<\/p>\n<h2>Trends in Copyright Litigation<\/h2>\n<p>Copyright decisions in 2004 stood at 61 and increased steadily through 2007. A decline occurred from 2008 onwards, with cases falling to 112 in 2012.
