The JPO/IPR Training Program for Fiscal 2010

Japan Patent Office announced it’s IPR training program for the year 2010. Usually, this program is conducted through Japan institute of invention & innovation (JIII) and Association for Overseas Technical Scholarships (AOTS) for Asia-Pacific nations. In India, the application can be processed through Indian Patent Office.

The outline and duration of various courses are as below:

  1. JPO/IPR training Course for Advanced IP Practitioners – duration of the program is between July 12- July 30, 2010. The dead line to file application is 14th May 2010.
  2. JPO/IPR Training course for Patent Experts- duration of the program is between August 25- September 14, 2010. The dead line to file application is 30th May 2010.
  3. JPO/IPR Training Course for IP Trainers- duration of the program is between September 27- October 13, 2010. The dead line to file application is July 31st 2010.

The brochure clearly mentions the day to day activities planned in the training programs.

The program JPO/IPR Training Course for Lawyers has been closed already. Hence all interested candidates (depending on the requirement/eligibility of each course) may apply long with their CV’s and other necessary documents as mentioned in the program details to the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks, Boudhik Sampada Bhavan, S.M Road, Mumbai -400037, Tel No. 022- 24132735 on or before the following due dates:

· Before 14th May 2010 for JPO/IPR training Course for Advanced IP Practitioners

· Before 21st May 2010 for JPO/IPR Training course for Patent Experts

· Before 9th July 2010 for JPO/IPR Training Course for IP Trainers

It is clearly mentioned in the Patent Office circular that the application with other documents should be sent in the envelope bearing the caption as follows: ( for example)

“JPO/IPR training Course for Advanced IP Practitioners July 12- July 30, 2010
